OOMFT = One Of My Favourite Things. When attempting to declutter recently I realised I now have quite a few objects that I doubt I'll ever part with. They've survived a number of house-hold moves over a number of decades and have thusly acquired a patina of history, my history. They remain attractive and meaningful not only for the memories embedded in them, but because, in the case of some of them, I'm quite sure I would single them out today on a store shelf so I guess my taste has been relatively constant. At any rate, I decided to catalogue some of them in paintings.
This jar i one of those objects that has been with me almost my entire life, first as dad’s and now as mine. He first used an old Dundee marmalade jar for his pencils when we lived in England, and clearly nabbed this fresh jar when we moved back to Toronto.
Painting is unframed.
