After being dazzled by the umbrella pines in Madrid's Retiro Park and the brilliant blue winter sky above them, I've come home to peer up into the magnificent old oaks against our pale hazy summer sky here in Toronto. Like the umbrella pines, the oaks have firm, wiggly, free-form dance-like limbs. This white oak has wonderful and distinctive pom-pom shaped leaf bunches.
Painting is unframed.
