This is part of The Plate series which is mostly food, resting on plates from my mother and grandmother — but this fig is on one of my own vintage Russel Wright-designed sideplate.
THE PLATE SERIES A series of small paintings of food on plates that belonged to my grandmother and then my mother, kind of nostalgia and remembering, I think. The series was started during the COVID lockdown when many of us suddenly had lots of time to contemplate and look at and prepare our food.
